Did you know...?

the vocal folds are a muscle and, just like any other muscle in our body, they need to be consistently trained and exercised in order for vocal skills to be developed and maintained. The same exercise principles that apply to athletes and the development of their athletic skills also apply to singers and their vocal skills! This is why consistent, efficient practice through vocal exercises and application of those exercises into songs is such an important factor in the overall development and maintenance of strong vocal skills and voice production.

How exactly is my voice produced?

The production of our voice is dependent on 3 subsytems, including the respiratory system, the phonatory system, and the resonatory system.  The respiratory system (or our breath) is known as the power source of our voice, it is a necessary component of voice production- without proper breath support and airflow, the quality and efficiency of our voice suffers.  The phonatory system (our vocal folds) is the sound source- our vocal folds vibrate together to produce the sound we hear when we speak/sing.  The resonatory system (our vocal tract and articulators) is the filter- it modifies the sound produced from our vocal folds & impacts the overall quality of the sound produced from our vocal folds.

How can Bella Christine Vocal Studio help me reach my musical goals?

At Bella Christine Voice Studio, my goal is to help you grow & be confident in your singing and vocal abilities. Exercises will be tailored to each individual student in order to best meet your voice and musical needs, while always including those exercises that help build and maintain the foundational skills involved in singing (including breath support, muscle coordination, and agility/pitch control exercises).  A strong emphasis on vocal hygiene practices, including education on the importance of hydration, vocal pacing, and self-advocacy for vocal health, is also a fundamental component of my teaching (Vocal Hygiene Checklist).  Whether you're looking to take lessons for fun or are a professional musician, I can help you reach your musical goals and maximize your vocal potential!
